A photographic exploration with Ici Japon of the infamous coal mining island off the coast of Nagasaki, Hashima, also known as Gunkanjima (Eng: Battleship Island). With a long and rather controversial history, the island is now completely abandoned and off limits. We visited with a former resident of the island, his first time returning since he left aged 18, some fifty odd years ago.
