Photographs taken for the town of Kesennuma in Miyagi Prefecture. Kesennuma was devastated by the tsunami that struck Northern Japan in 2011, these images were used as part of a large campaign to help restimulate the local economy by bringing tourism back to the area. We focused mainly on the people of Kesennuma and local industry, as well as the public school-turned-museum to remember the tsunami and the towns beautiful landscapes.
