Some photos from a recent project I did with CNN and Lexus, documenting the traditional crafts that influence aspects of their contemporary car design.
Lexus site the decorative Japanese woodcraft practice known as Yosegi as one of their core influences.
Mr Ota, who is based in Hakone, is generally considered one of the modern-day masters of this 400 year-old craft. Last month I joined CNN in visiting his workshop to document his working process for use by Lexus in their promotional material.
