Go Tokyo – Assignment for Tokyo Metropolitan Government
An assignment for Go Tokyo and the Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Association which saw me visit various locations around the city capturing a number of places, local areas and activities to produce a body of images to be used to attract tourists and visitors to Tokyo, through printed and online media campaigns. Shot during the autumn/winter of 2019.
Go Tokyo is the Metropolitan Government’s official online Information and Travel hub accessible via the web and social media channels. They target those who want to visit Tokyo from both international and domestic locations and ensure they have the necessary information needed to navigate the city. They also promote and sponsor a number of activities visitors to the city can partake in with assisted foreign language help, including tea ceremonies, washi (Japanese paper) making workshops, sushi workshops and taiko drumming classes. Go Tokyo also have tour guides situated around the city, in unmistakable blue and white uniforms, ready to answer questions in several languages. The brief included photographing all of the above mentioned as well as a various locations within the city.
All models for this project were scouted and casted by myself, with locations decided upon through joint decisions made with the Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Association.
