The People’s Republic

Snapshots from a fourteen day road-trip through the southern provinces of China in autumn 2018. More than just a road-trip, this was actually my wife and I’s belated honeymoon. We landed in a remote town in south west China and slowly made our way east some 1000 km, where we had a return flight to Japan booked. What happened in the two weeks between we left up to fate – with no solid plans in place, no reservations, no hotels, no guides.

These are some of the wonderful places we discovered on our travels and the some of the people we experienced and befriended along the way. This was my first time in China proper, and I cannot wait to get back and continue shooting there!
